The Crime System of Salem is unique and challenging. It requires much dedication and allows for balanced mechanics against those who would commit crimes against other Player Characters. The crimes are known as "The Black Magic Arts" and are arranged in a series of skills. Tresspassing: Tresspassing allows you to walk on other peoples claims. If you do then you take Black Bile Drain equal to a % of your total black bile. Bile drain can be permanent if you get a critical tick. Larceny: Stealing basically. This allows you to steal from players bodies after they have been murdered. You can also steal from players containers. You take 1 crime per item from a chest. Taking a chest off takes 26 crimes one for each item and one for the chest itself. Waste: Destruction ability. This allows you to destroy anything on a claimed land. It takes 1 crime for every 3% damage done to a building. Lighting fires counts as waste and so does building things. Murder: This is the only way a character can be deleted. When you murder a player they lose their whole character and a % of silver in their bank* *Citation needed. In addition to this there is a scent system. *Scents can be picked up by right clicking the exclaimation marks on the ground. *Scents can be used to summon people online. *Using scents COUNTS AS A CRIME so if you use a scent to summon people online you yourself are at risk. *Each scent you pick up allows you to get an arrow to point to a player for 10 minutes. *The Scents are Tresspass, Battery, Assault, Larceny, Theft, Destruction, and Murder. Each one lasts a different amount of time. *Scents disappear after a formula is applied. Sqrt (Total Time) *3. Total Time being the time elapsed from when the crime is committed. The more fresh a scent is to the crime being done the longer it lasts in your inventory. Fresh scents can last up to 1 year as a cieling. Summoning System: *Right click a scent on a leanto to summon a player online. *You can only summon players who are offline. *Players in Boston can be summoned after staying there for a few hours. *If you summon a player without a leanto then they will die instantly with no body. *You can summon players up to 8 scares away from their leanto. If you do not get a summon box then that scent is expired and doesn't work anymore.
